We began our business journey as general contractors, and quickly realized the dire situation in Florida with regard to mold. We switched gears and obtained our mold remediation state license and soon became experts in mold removal and remediation. We utilize our specific education and experience to eradicate mold, first and foremost, and then secondly, we utilize our general contracting expertise to aid our clients in the rebuild and reconstruction, if necessary.
We work with homeowners and landlords.
One of our latest success stories involved a water leak, which originated from the shower area and poured into the garage. The origin of the water leak was unknown and hidden from site. This leak resulted in mold growth. We began the mold remediation process by opening the damaged wall in the garage which shared a wall with the shower. In doing so, we uncovered a large amount of mold growth in that wall as well as adjacent walls and the shower pan. When we explored further, we discovered the shower pan had cracked overtime and was the source of the water leak. We were able to now remove all of the damaged walls, shower pan area and anything that got affected by this leak/mold. We cleaned, sanitized and encapsulated all of the affected areas. We wiped all of the unaffected areas/ surfaces in the entire bathroom area. Then we fogged the entire area, including the garage and lastly, we supplied specialty air scrubbers that were kept on 247 completely eradicating any mold in the air. We then walked our clients through the homeowner’s insurance claim process and successfully helped them obtain a large payment. We are now in the process of selecting all of the finishing touches to rebuild the entire bathroom. We will remodel this bathroom from beginning to end, installing new tile, all new fixtures, and hardware, etc. Their bathroom will be totally remodeled/updated and beautiful when we are finished.
The advice we would give a customer looking to hire a provider in our line of work would be as follows…
1. Make sure the person you hire is licensed and insured in the state of Florida for mold remediation specifically.
2. Look for a professional with the most experience. More experience usually means more knowledge and more expertise.
3. Look for somebody who is a one-stop-shop. This means they can help you with your issue from the beginning all the way until the end with special knowledge of all the elements related to a mold problem (leak detection, mold, remediation, rebuild, and Insurance claims).
4. Try to find a company that is family owned and operated, will come to your house for a complementary, no obligation inspection, and if possible try to only work with the owner of the company because they will do right by you as their client in order to protect their license as well as gain referrals.
5. Find a professional who will take the time to give you detailed mold education at home and explain how your mold situation came about and how to solve the problem, including the very important stages of the mold remediation process and how to prevent it from returning in the future.
Some common questions that should be thought through are as follows…
1. Do I see a water stain? And if so, where is it coming from?
2. What am I seeing on the wall? Is it mold? Is it dangerous?
3. I have not been feeling well, I have headaches or breathing issues or pain in my chest, etc.; is there something in my house that can be causing this?
4. If I have a water leak, what do I do next? Who should I call? Do I need to do a dry out? Do I need special machines to remove the water? As a result of the water leak, do I have mold growing? (The answer is yes. Always yes)
5. What type of professional do I reach out to solve this specific problem?
